Learning AI on My Own: An Imperfect but Meaningful Journey
Hello, I'm Vorgath Callaghan (a pseudonym), born in Jakarta, Indonesia.
I might not be anyone special in the world of technology.
I don’t have a computer science degree.
I didn’t go to a prestigious university.
In fact, I once felt like I chose the "wrong major" back in vocational school.
But there’s one thing I’ve always had: a deep curiosity and a desire to build something that matters.
This journey began with small things—random YouTube videos and short AI-related content on Instagram. That’s how I got interested in the world of Artificial Intelligence.
At first, everything felt overwhelming.
Strange lines of code.
Technical jargon that made my head spin.
And an ever-present feeling of not being “from the tech world.”
But I kept learning—slowly.
I watched tutorials, failed, and tried again.
I studied the basics of machine learning, explored chatbot UI design, and experimented with Firebase Studio.
Eventually, I started building something I now call Vorgathium.
Vorgathium isn’t just an app or a project.
It’s an extension of my dream to bridge humans and AI through empathy, warmth, and meaning.
I want AI to be more than just intelligent.
I want it to understand.
To be there.
To encourage.
To make people feel heard.
Throughout this process, I learned something important:
You don’t have to be an expert to start.
But you do have to be brave enough to try.
There were many long nights, many doubts, and many mistakes.
But every step—every stumble—only strengthened my will to keep going.
And now, I’m sharing this with you.
Yes, you.
Whoever you are—maybe you feel like you don’t have enough skills, enough time, or enough confidence.
You can start from wherever you are.
Slowly.
Step by step.
Don’t be afraid to fail.
Don’t wait to be perfect.
Because AI isn’t just about technology.
It’s about hope.
And if I can do it, I believe you can too.
Stay strong.
Keep dreaming.
The future is waiting for you—and it’s more beautiful than you think.
— Vorgath.
